Our event on the 21st March proved to be one of the most successful to date!
The NetApp Tech Update was the first event to come under the banner of SNS Live – a new initiative we set-up within SNS, to bring to life our philosophy of ‘taking IT seriously but having fun doing it’.
Attendance for the day was well above 50 and we were delighted to welcome many new faces to Pinewood Studios.
In the morning we kicked off with a fantastic line-up of presentations, focusing on many issues that are at the centre of our customer’s IT strategies for 2019. The team from NetApp discussed their latest technologies for Cloud Services, Storage Platforms and HCI Infrastructure. Adrian from Fujitsu then gave an insightful presentation on Converged Infrastructure using NFLEX, followed by Marc & Glen from Commvault presenting on their new product Activate.
For this event, we were proud to do something a bit different in the afternoon. Our guests had the chance to listen to a special guest speaker – Academy Award-winning Stuntman and Action Director Vic Armstrong.
Vic discussed his amazing 50-year career in the film industry, working closely with Steven Spielberg, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Harrison Ford, to name but a few. We also got to take a look at some clips of his work as a stuntman on ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark‘, ‘Superman’ and ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’.
After Vic’s talk, we then hosted an exclusive screening of the latest Marvel blockbuster ‘Captain Marvel’.
The film is proving to be a massive success worldwide and sets the story up nicely for the final Avengers film out in late April (which I personally can’t wait to go and see).
I’d like to take the time to thank our partners NetApp, Fujitsu and Commvault for their support and sponsorship of the event. By working closely with their teams, we managed to showcase an insightful and entertaining day for guests. If you weren’t lucky enough to join us last week at Pinewood Studios, a link to the seminar presentations can be found here.
We are running several follow-up Deep-dive sessions, to look more in detail at some of the topics covered on the day. We keep these small and focused, and places are extremely limited, so if you’re interested, please reserve your place by getting in touch with the team as soon as possible.
