Star Wars – The Rise of Skywalker is eagerly awaited by fans – and you get the chance to see it on its day of release at the Odeon, Covent Garden. See the full event agenda here, or register below.
Since 2016, we have been holding large scale events in both London and at Pinewood Studios to showcase vendors such as VMware, Dell EMC and NetApp.
Our half-day, in depth seminars are followed by lunch and our Pinewood events feature screenings of blockbuster movies, and a keynote speaker. For our last event, we did something a little bit different, and held it at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, our special guest was Spurs legend Clive Allen.
Tech Kick-Off – July 2019
This July SNS Live did something a little bit different from screening a blockbuster movie. Our choice of venue went down well… the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium certainly seemed to impress everybody that attended – both delegates and presenters alike!
After the morning technical sessions focused on technologies and solutions, we had some informative and entertaining content from VMware, Dell EMC, Commvault and Ruckus. We then had a good lunch, followed by a very engaing talk from a Spurs & England legend Clive Allen, interviewd by our very own Lee Douglas. A lifelong Spurs fan, this was certainly his favourite part of the day! We finished up with a VIP Tour of the stadium, before convening for drinks in The H Club. A day to remember for all involved!
NetApp Tech Update – March 2019
The NetApp Tech Update was the first event to come under the banner of SNS Live – a new initiative set-up within SNS, to bring to life our philosophy of ‘taking IT seriously but having fun doing it’. We had a fantastic line-up of presentations, which focused on many of the technologies that are at the centre of our customers’ IT strategy for 2019.
We were proud to do something a bit different for our guests after the seminar. Our guests had the chance to listen to a special guest speaker – Academy Award-winning stuntman and action director Vic Armstrong, who discussed his amazing 50 year career in the film industry. We then hosted an exclusive screening of ‘Captain Marvel‘ in the John Barry Theatre.
Dell Technologies World – October 2018
Our event last October welcomed guests for the first time to Shepperton Film Studios, where iconic movies such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner and more recent films like Guardians of the Galaxy have all been filmed.
On the day, Dell EMC showcased all the latest updates on their Server, Networking, Storage, HCI, Data-Protection and Cloud-integrated solutions. After a 2-Course meal in the studio’s beautiful conservatory, our customers were treated to an exclusive screening of ‘Venom’ in the Korda Theatre. The theatre is used by production companies for sound mixing using the latest Dolby Atmos technology and proved to be a great cinematic experience for guests.
Fujitsu & Partners Blockbuster Event – July 2018
Our event at Pinewood Studios in July showcased the latest technology Fujitsu had to offer to businesses, with discussions on their Industry-leading servers and Ready-to-run Integrated Solutions. Commvault also presented their latest tool to help manage Data Protection and GDPR compliance, their ‘Sensitive Data Governance’ solution.
Fortunately the warm weather and sunshine held out for us to host a BBQ in the Pinewood Gardens, followed by a private screening of ‘Deadpool 2’ in the John Barry theatre.
Tech Showcase Kick-off – June 2018
June’s event was the first SNS event to be held at The Brewery in the heart of London’s East End. Our partners at NetApp, Veeam and Commvault showcased a wide range of innovative products from NetApp’s next generation of Cloud Infrastructure to Commvault’s latest GDPR solutions.
Several of our guests were also lucky enough to win an exclusive 3-Course meal with a number of footballing legends, while the rest were able to watch the England vs. Belgium game on a 100″ TV.
With products from Dell EMC, Fujitsu and VMware, our short product briefings are a brilliant way to keep a finger on the pulse of the future. Held in Central London, we run through the product in great detail before providing comparisons against other vendors and finishing up with technical Q&A sessions. These are followed by lunch and complimentary drinks.
SNS are proud to be providing some brilliant technology from industry leaders, and our seminars are overviews of some of the best things we have seen from our partners. Our seminars have included updates after new VMware vSphere releases and storage comparisons, all of which are followed by lunch and drinks from the Central London location. We have even had the pleasure of hosting our VMware events from the VMware London offices in the Blue Fin Building.
It was very interesting and useful to attend the Technology event hosted at Pinewood studios. It’s always interesting to meet other people in the industry to share their experiences and ideas. We had particularly attended the event to look at storage solutions and creative workflows being used in TV and Film which made attending the event all the worthwhile!
I guess I would say that I found the event to be very helpful in understanding Dell EMC’s new portfolio.
What I found the most useful was the overview of the risks and concerns of moving to the cloud and understanding how their hyper convergence solutions could help consolidate our environment.
I would recommend an event like this as it lets you cover a lot of areas of interest and can allow for further discussions.
There is no better place than Pinewood as far as I am concerned for forums, seminars etc.
The configuration is very comfortable which makes the presentations informative and interesting. The format of the day is perfect – a great mix of business and social elements.
The event was generally excellent and amongst other things opened our minds to some newer datacentre virtualisation technologies we’d not really thought about previously. The screening room setting was perfect for this sort of event and the presenters were first class and clearly knew what they were talking about. You never know when you go to these things if it will be time well spent but on this occasion it certainly was. We were very well looked after and obviously being held at Pinewood was the icing on the cake. I would recommend to others without hesitation.
It was a memorable day indeed.
Speakers came from the high profile suppliers like Dell and EMC which gave me an insider view, well beyond a usual sales pitch.
The venue was pleasant as the acoustic for a rather big audience is always a challenge and the movie theatre solved it nicely.
I find the SNS briefings at Pinewood a real benefit to the ever changing world of Infrastructure with speakers from manufacturers and SNS demonstrating deep knowledge and understanding that really helps me keep up to date.
It was a delightful day, and an absolute geek’s dream, techy talks and Star Wars, what could be better.
