With vSphere 5.0 you can no
longer deploy the ESX hypervisor so you need to
plan your migration to ESXi. In addition many
new features have been introduced, but as with
previous releases, a simple "out of the box"
upgrade will not take advantage of them.
The vSphere 5.0 upgrade
service has been designed to allow organisations
to perform a well planned upgrade, while also
taking full advantage of the performance , availability,
security and management enhancements.
